1 Procure the right equipment. If you are already a DJ, you may already have some equipment. However, your equipment may not be in the best condition or be the newest equipment available. You need a computer that connects your song selections to the speakers, a microphone and speakers devoid of static.

3 Talk to your clients about their favorite songs, when they want certain songs played and how much they want you to be involved. 5 Play a variety of music at the wedding. Play the traditional songs your client requested for the first dance, father and bride dance and the last dance. Infuse the couple´s favorite songs in the mix as much as possible. Play softer music during times that guests are eating. Play faster music to get people on the dance floor.

6 Purchase a variety of lights in different colors in case your client wants you to do a light show or add to the ambience. Add smoke machines to create a mysterious fog for the wedding if requested.

7 Socialize with the guests. Talk to them, joke around and get out on the dance floor to help liven the event. When making announcements, use a strong, energetic voice to get everyone´s attention as well as to keep them entertained. Smile often and laugh at the guests´ jokes. 8 Talk to your clients or the wedding coordinator a few times during the event to make sure that you are do everything they want. You may need to make an additional announcement that was forgotten.
